Dovetail Interiors stock the best brand furniture from around the world. We’re excited to announce this now includes Sherborne where you can find your dream bed!
Sherborne are leading British manufacturers of both electric ‘lift & rise’ recliners and, more recently, electric adjustable beds. In fact, after several years of feedback and experience, Sherborne have finally developed an improved and extended range for 2017… Now available at Dovetail Interiors!
Sherborne are probably the strongest adjustable beds available on the market. With a five year guarantee on all electrical components, plus a frame that supports up to 30 stone, you can see why! Their exceptional strength allows the user to easily be lifted a standing position. If required, the bed can even be fitted with cot sides too.
With a wide range of adjustable beds to choose from, we’re sure you will find the perfect bed to fulfil your needs. But just why is choosing the right bed so important?
According to a recent study by SilentNight, people in the UK lose, on average, seven days sleep each year. This means people are only getting six and a half hours sleep per night, instead of the recommended seven to nine!
Losing such a large amount of sleep can have bad implications for your health. Yes, it can result in short-term symptoms, such as fatigue, short temper and lack of focus. But did you know it can develop into more serious health issues, including heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes?
There are many factors which could result in a lack of sleep:
1 Stress is a key player. Too much stress can cause tension and anxiety, resulting in sleep problems. It can even result in insomnia as our brain find it difficult to shut down and get to sleep. Therefore, it is recommended that you avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine before going to bed. This can help reduce your stress levels, if only slightly.
2 Poor lifestyle decisions can impact sleep too. How many of the following apply to you?
✓ Irregular sleeping patterns
✓ Regular napping
✓ Drinking coffee late in the day
✓ Consumption of sugary foods/heavy meals before bed
✓ Not enough exercise
These are all too common examples of bad habits that impact your ability to get a good nights sleep. If you’ve answered yes to more than one of these, it’s time you reconsidered your bedtime routine!
3 Modern technology also causes problems. We’re all guilty of checking our phones before bed. However, did you know the blue light emitted by our laptops, phones and televisions prevent the production of melatonin, a hormone that controls our sleeping cycle? Reducing our melatonin makes it harder to fall asleep.Instead, our brain remains awake and alert. Try half an hour of “screen-free” time before bed, allowing your body to wind down before sleep.
Choosing the right bed can help combat lack of sleep.
Some people believe finding the “dream bed” is difficult, but Dovetail Interiors think it’s easy! Sherborne offer strength and support that few other beds do. Follow our advice to find your perfect bed.
Step one: test out your bed.
Everyone is built differently, so not all beds will correctly support you. By testing before you buy, you’ll prevent an uncomfortable night’s sleep on a bed that’s simply not designed for your weight or build. All of the Sherborne adjustable beds listed on our site are displayed in our Norwich showroom, so feel free to pop by for a trial!
Step two: look for back support.
If you suffer from a back pain you may find it difficult to sleep. And when you don’t get enough sleep, your pain can get worse! Sherborne beds are great for those who suffer with back pain; they can lift the user into a sitting position for ease of getting out of bed. Furthermore, their quality mattresses feature three layers of supportive foam, as well as an additional layer of memory foam. Now your back will feel supported all through the night!
Step three: stretch out!
When you test a bed, make sure there’s enough room for you to spread out during the night. There’s nothing worse than being cramped in the corner of your matress while your partner dominates the bed. If that’s a common problem, maybe you should invest in a king size bed instead? That’s not a problem for Sherborne beds – all their beds come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 2 to 6 feet meaning you can truly find your dream bed!
Step four: the design.
Choosing a bed is not all about comfort. It’s got to be stylish too! Sherborne beds come in a variety of headboard designs. Think about what character you want. Modern and minimalist? Or maybe something a bit different. We recommend this Countess headboard if you’re looking for something fun and eye-catching!
We hope this post is useful and that you find your “dream bed” very soon.
